Matters needing attention when using Water Based Wood Coating

Matters needing attention when using Water Based Wood Coating

Jun 19, 2020

The temperature of the Water Based Wood Coating and the surface to be coated must be consistent. Do not paint on cold wood. It can be applied and dried in the sun, but avoid painting on hot surfaces.

The construction conditions of Water Based Wood Coating are generally 10–30°C. Excessively high or low temperatures may lead to poor coating effects, and may cause sags, prickly heat, orange peels and air bubbles. If coating is to be carried out when the best construction conditions are not met, first test whether the coating effect is satisfactory to avoid trouble.

Water Based Wood Coating

If you feel that the paint is too thick, you can generally mix it with water and adjust it to a suitable viscosity before applying. The amount of water added should be based on the best coating effect. When spraying, it should be thin. When brushing, the amount of dipping should be small and thin to avoid sagging. Do not expect a thick coat to finish the work, should be thin multiple layers of construction.

Before painting, the compatibility of the water-based paint used with the primer or colorant must be confirmed. The oil-based system must be dried for at least 24 hours before applying the water-based paint. The paint money must be fully polished and cleaned.
